The United Nations on Climate Change in November 2007 stated that "Protecting and replanting Rainforests is the most effective way to combat global warming"
The Indonesian Rainforest Foundation is a non profit organisation Registered by a Decree of the Minister of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia to assist the local people who live in Indonesia's Rainforest.
The Foundation is dedicated to the reforestation, preservation, education and sustainability by eco and agro developments of the world's last ancient Indonesian Rainforests and the people and animals that depend upon them.
The Foundation develops reforestation programs with long term sustainable eco and agro livelihood programs in conjunction with the local people and stakeholders in an area.
These long term livelihood programs ensure that the local people recieve ongoing financial benefits, skills and social advantages from these reforestation programs.
Our aim is to create a global awareness of the need for preservation of the rainforests by funding programs with direct investment, sponsorship and donations from corporate and private citizens throughout the world.
In Australia the Indonesian Rainforest Fund Inc is established under the Associations Incorporated Act 1981(Qld) with Incorporation Number: IA 39939
"The Foundation needs your help immediatly to quickly change the present mind set of many people or most of the Rainforests of Indonesia within 10 years will be irreplaceably damaged and their human and animals inhabitants will be lost forever"
Dr John A Quayle - Founder - Indonesian Rainforest Foundation 2008.
